Dealing - What is AIM

Your swift and efficient route to the market

When you're ready to trade, our friendly and knowledgeable dealers are there to help. They'll execute your share purchases (we have a minimum £1,000 purchase transaction level) and sales as fast as possible. You can also call your dealer to find out the prices of your shares.

Understanding your investment preferences

Even within the penny shares field, there are many different variables to consider, from industry sector to management style. Our dealers get to know you, building a long-term relationship that helps them understand your preferences. If they know you favour oil companies, for example, they'll be on the lookout for suitable stocks.

The security that comes from dealing with a regulated business

One of the things current customers value about City Equities Limited is our open, straight talking approach to dealing in penny shares. We insist on full disclosure when preparing research reports and go well beyond the minimum standards required.

Essential Background - AIM

What is AIM? *

At City Equities Limited we specialise in the smaller companies sector. That means a lot of our business is quoted on the Alternative Investment Market (AIM). It's the perfect market for investors knowledgeable about, and keen to invest in, growing companies; but "what exactly is AIM?" As a market, AIM is particularly suited to the needs of growing businesses. These companies have very specific requirements and these are reflected in the entry requirements. Since its launch in 1995, AIM has provided a successful platform through which smaller companies can raise funds. "Since launch in excess of 2,200 companies have been admitted and more than £24 billion has been raised collectively". (Source www.londonstockexchange.com Feb 2006).

Risk Warning

There is an extra risk of losing money when shares are bought in some smaller companies including 'Penny Shares'. There is a big difference between the buying price and the selling price of these shares. If they have to be sold immediately, you may get back much less than you paid for them or you may have difficulty in selling them. Past performance is not a reliable indicator of future results. The price may change quickly and it may go down as well as up. You could lose every penny put into a particular share.
