The Board of F&C Managed Portfolio Trust plc announces that on 3 November 2008 the Company purchased 50,000 Income shares of 10p each at a price of 65p per Income share to be held in treasury and 95,000 Growth shares of 10p each at a price of 61.5p per Growth share to be held in treasury.

Following this purchase the Company's issued share capital consists of
21,907,192 Income shares and 20,935,567 Growth shares, of which 1,315,000 Income shares and 1,580,000 Growth shares are held in treasury. Therefore the total number of shares with voting rights in F&C Managed Portfolio Trust plc is 20,592,192 Income shares and 19,355,567 Growth shares.

The above figures (20,592,192 Income shares and 19,355,567 Growth shares) may be used by shareholders as the denominator for the calculations by which they will determine if they are required to notify their interest in, or a change to their interest in, F&C Managed Portfolio Trust plc under the FSA's Disclosure and Transparency Rules.
