Fall in the share price of Cantono (CTNO), before it was suspended pending clarification of the financial position, was reported by The Times on Saturday. The shares remain suspended.
The “Ones to watch” section of the Daily Express on Saturday included Northern Petroleum (NOP), commenting that the shares had doubled since March. The piece outlined healthy cashflow, with two new fields to come on stream this year and four exploration wells scheduled, as well as an operation co-investing with Shell, and the potential for more farm-out deals. Following this press attention, the shares were 2.00p healthier at 130.00p.
PLUS Markets Group (PMK) appeared in Saturday’s Daily Express, which noted that the shares had “soared” after resolution of its dispute with the London Stock Exchange, regarding trading services for AIM listings. This was also highlighted by The Daily Telegraph and The Times on Saturday, as well as today’s Express, but the momentum failed to spill over into this week’s trading, where the stock fell by 0.375p to reach 7.625p.

There is an extra risk of losing money when shares are bought in some smaller companies including 'Penny Shares'. There is a big difference between the buying price and the selling price of these shares. If they have to be sold immediately, you may get back much less than you paid for them or you may have difficulty in selling them. Past performance is not a reliable indicator of future results. The price may change quickly and it may go down as well as up. You could lose every penny put into a particular share.
