BEOWULF MINING PLC
Beowulf Gold PLC ("Beowulf") is a company involved in gold and copper
exploration.
Beowulf is conducting exploration on two gold exploration targets in Northern
Sweden.
The first is the Jokkmokk Licence Area of 82 square kilometres, where major
diamond drill intersections of copper and gold mineralization have been made by
the Phelps Dodge Sweden AB - Beowulf Joint Venture. Phelps Dodge Sweden AB
("Phelps Dodge") is a division of the Phelps Dodge Corporation, which together
with its subsidiaries, is one of the world"s leading producers of copper and
molybdenum. Under the terms of the Joint Venture, Phelps Dodge will have the
right to earn up to 80% (eighty percent) ownership of any development project
on the licences by funding all exploration costs, including the cost of a full
("bankable") feasibility on any deposit found. Following a decision to proceed
to development Beowulf will have to fund its share of the development costs to
retain its 20% interest, or revert to a 1.5% Net Smelter Return.
The second is the Grundtask Licence Area, covering 43 square kilometres
prospective for gold mineralization. The licences are 100% owned by Beowulf
and it has completed 6 diamond drill holes over geochemical and geophysical
anomalies. Low grade gold mineralization has been encountered, which is
potentially of economic grade.
Exploration is on going in both areas.
Beowulf is the name of an epic poem, which is widely regarded as the first
great work of English literature. It is about an Anglo Saxon of Royal descent,
who was involved in adventures in East Anglia, Denmark and Sweden. The gold
finds at Sutton Hoo, East Anglia are thought to be connected to Beowulf.
