Healthcare Locums sees 'very successful' 2008

Healthcare Locums said it looks forward with confidence to a very successful 2008 after the healthcare recruitment specialist reported a 53% rise in first half adjusted operating profit.

Operating profit before reorganisation costs, amortisation of intangibles and share scheme charges increased to £7.8m in the six month ended 30 June from £5.1m last time, while revenue rose 34% to £79.7m.

"The group continues to build on its market leading position in each of its market segments," said chairman Alan Walker.

"Our aim is to achieve 20% market share in the next three years, and we look forward with confidence to a very successful 2008, and a stronger performance in 2009 onwards," he added.

A maiden interim dividend of 0.8p has been declared.
