Immunodiagnostic sees turnover almost double

01 April 2008 07:59:00

Turnover for the year to 31 March 2008 at Immunodiagnostic Systems is seen around 90% ahead of last year's £9.9m thanks to acquisitions, the diagnostic testing kit group said Tuesday.

The company, which bought Nordic Bioscience Diagnostics and Biocode Hycel last summer, added that operating profits are expected to be in line with market expectations.

"Costs remain well under control and trading in all of the group's main territories has increased year on year as well as across the group's key products," a statement read.

Meanwhile, sales into both the USA and France have seen "significant" growth this year, with prospects for the new looking "very good" as the firm gets set to launch its new 3X3 automated analyzer later this year.

In addition, IDS announced it has signed an agreement with French firm HYPHEN BioMed for the development of a range of automated immune haematology tests.

Discussions are ongoing with additional candidate 3X3 alliance partners, and further announcements will be made in due course, it said.

Full year results will be published during July.

Risk Warning

There is an extra risk of losing money when shares are bought in some smaller companies including 'Penny Shares'. There is a big difference between the buying price and the selling price of these shares. If they have to be sold immediately, you may get back much less than you paid for them or you may have difficulty in selling them. Past performance is not a reliable indicator of future results. The price may change quickly and it may go down as well as up. You could lose every penny put into a particular share.
