Lookers chief exec tops up

01 September 2008 15:51:00

Lookers chief executive Ken Surgenor has spent more than £50,000 lifting his stake in the car dealer.

He bought 100,000 shares at just over 54p each and now has nearly 1.3m shares in the company, representing about 0.71% of the issued share capital.

Lookers, which has outlets across England, reported a fall in profits last week after turbulent economic conditions hit new and used car sales.

Surgenor said he expected full-year results to be at the lower end of expectations.

Risk Warning

There is an extra risk of losing money when shares are bought in some smaller companies including 'Penny Shares'. There is a big difference between the buying price and the selling price of these shares. If they have to be sold immediately, you may get back much less than you paid for them or you may have difficulty in selling them. Past performance is not a reliable indicator of future results. The price may change quickly and it may go down as well as up. You could lose every penny put into a particular share.
