Microfuze to miss forecasts after delays

25 August 2006 16:19:00

MicroFuze International, the specialist engineer, slumped today after it warned it would miss profit forecasts after delays.

"As a result of the delay in the scale up and purchase of a production microwave your directors foresee that it will not now be possible to achieve market expectations of sales or profit for the full year to December 2006," said Microfuze.

The company added that cash balances at the year end are also likely to be lower than expected.

MicroFuze added that it is proactively looking to acquire complementary technologies in order to accelerate sales and strengthen its intellectual property portfolio.

Risk Warning

There is an extra risk of losing money when shares are bought in some smaller companies including 'Penny Shares'. There is a big difference between the buying price and the selling price of these shares. If they have to be sold immediately, you may get back much less than you paid for them or you may have difficulty in selling them. Past performance is not a reliable indicator of future results. The price may change quickly and it may go down as well as up. You could lose every penny put into a particular share.
