Oil explorer Oilexco directors have taken advantage of the shares strong run, which have more than doubled since May.

Chief financial officer Brian Ward offloaded his complete holding in the company, selling 100,000 shares at C$3.46 each.

Vice president corporate development Michael Cairns sold 60,000 shares, leaving him without any shares in the group.

At the beginning of this month, Rod Christensen, vice president of exploration, disposed of 45,000, but he still has 61,700 shares.

Last month, Oilexco said it is looking forward to the test results from its Huntington well, which it believes will provide significant new oil discovery.

The group said its 40% owned Huntington Prospect in Block 22/14b in the UK Central North Sea was drilled to a total depth of 13,325 feet.
