Pearson chairman takes more shares

17 October 2008 15:37:00

Pearson's chairman Glen Moreno has upped his holding in the publishing group with the purchase of 10,000 American Depositary Receipts.

He bought the ADRs in Pearson, which publishes the Financial Times and a range of textbooks, at $9.40 (£5.45p) a time and now has 210,000.

An ADR is a means for US investors to invest in foreign companies.

The purchase comes soon after Pearson said the strong US dollar was helping it lift profits.

Financial Times sales were benefiting from readers keen to follow the volatility seen in the global markets lately, the firm said.
