SIG bosses build stakes

26 August 2008 15:39:00

Directors at SIG have increased their holdings in the insulation and roofing supplier, the company confirmed today.

Chief executive Chris Davies took 3,000 shares at 506.5p, paying a total of £15,195 and lifting his holding to just over 31,000 shares. Finance director Gareth Davies bought 2,000 shares in the Sheffield-based company and now has just under 79,000 in total.

SIG posted a slight drop in half year profits Thursday and warned that trading in some of its markets may become even more challenging.

In April, Chris Davies sold about 3,300 shares for 784.5p each, while Gareth Davies sold just over 7,900 at the same price.

Risk Warning

There is an extra risk of losing money when shares are bought in some smaller companies including 'Penny Shares'. There is a big difference between the buying price and the selling price of these shares. If they have to be sold immediately, you may get back much less than you paid for them or you may have difficulty in selling them. Past performance is not a reliable indicator of future results. The price may change quickly and it may go down as well as up. You could lose every penny put into a particular share.
