Sector movers: DS Smith results lift Mondi

Mondi is leading the forestry and paper sector higher. The paper and packaging giant has been boosted by fellow packaging group DS Smith's results. Profit before tax for the half-year to October was £44.1m versus £56.1m previously on revenue that increased 17% to £1.10bn.

Bus and rail group Stagecoach is dragging the travel and leisure sector lower. The firm reported a rise in first half pre-tax profits but said it is planning to cut jobs and is likely to see downward pressure on 2009/10 rail profits.

Stagecoach's peers FirstGroup, National Express and Go Ahead are also lower.
