Shell non-exec ups stake

07 November 2007 15:47:00

Royal Dutch Shell has rallied 25% since March as supply concerns lift oil prices close to $100 a barrel, but non-executive director Christine Morin-Postel clearly thinks there's more to come.

The French national picked up 2,725 'A' shares in the oil major at €29.20 each, costing her €79,570, or around £55,500. She now owns 8,485 shares.

Morin-Postel was a member of the Royal Dutch supervisory board from July 2004 and was a board member of Royal Dutch until the merger of the company in December 2005.

She was also executive vice-president and member of the executive committee of French utility Suez.

Risk Warning

There is an extra risk of losing money when shares are bought in some smaller companies including 'Penny Shares'. There is a big difference between the buying price and the selling price of these shares. If they have to be sold immediately, you may get back much less than you paid for them or you may have difficulty in selling them. Past performance is not a reliable indicator of future results. The price may change quickly and it may go down as well as up. You could lose every penny put into a particular share.
