Vividas agrees cricket highlights trial

30 April 2008 08:43:00

Video streaming technology outfit Vividas has agreed to let the International Cricket Council (ICC) trial a new pay-per-view portal to stream cricket footage over the internet.

AIM listed Vividas said its technology provides full screen, high quality viewing and ensures the stream is unaffected by the number of users.

The ICC-branded, pay-per-view video portal will be linked to the cricket authority's website using Vividas streaming technology and the new VivStream Video Platform.

Viewers will be able to watch highlights from big tournaments, including high-definition footage of last year's ICC World Twenty20 in South Africa.

The trial will be offered to the general public from 14 May to 31 July, with a 60-minute highlights package set to cost between $2 and $4, depending on the region.

"Vividas was chosen because its streaming technology can deliver video content via the internet in previously unachievable quality - without the need for downloads or firewall issues - to PCs and Macs," said ICC General Manager - Commercial, Campbell Jamieson.

Risk Warning

There is an extra risk of losing money when shares are bought in some smaller companies including 'Penny Shares'. There is a big difference between the buying price and the selling price of these shares. If they have to be sold immediately, you may get back much less than you paid for them or you may have difficulty in selling them. Past performance is not a reliable indicator of future results. The price may change quickly and it may go down as well as up. You could lose every penny put into a particular share.
