All brands at interior furnishings group Walker Greenbank saw healthy revenue growth in the first half of the year.

Revenue in the six months to end-July rose 7% to £33m from £30.81m a year earlier. Brand sales in the UK rose 8% while sales in local currency improved 4% on the European mainland. Brand sales in the relatively small US division saw zero growth in local currency but growth in the rest of the world hit 34%.

Profit before tax improved to £1.72m from £1.4m. The group does not pay interim dividends.

“We currently expect to be in line with market expectations for the full year, dependent on the key autumn selling period,” said Ian Kirkham, non-executive chairman.

Risk Warning

There is an extra risk of losing money when shares are bought in some smaller companies including 'Penny Shares'. There is a big difference between the buying price and the selling price of these shares. If they have to be sold immediately, you may get back much less than you paid for them or you may have difficulty in selling them. Past performance is not a reliable indicator of future results. The price may change quickly and it may go down as well as up. You could lose every penny put into a particular share.
