betinternet eyes full year profit

09 October 2006 15:46:00

Online gambling firm betinternet said it has the correct strategies in place to post a full year profit.

"The board is pleased that the current management team have added a renewed focus on the key elements of the business and have demonstrated that we have the correct strategies in place to ensure a full year profit," it said.

The group reiterated its view that the recent passing of the Unlawful Internet Gambling Enforcement Bill in the US will have little impact on its current business.

"We will, however, continue to seek clarification on the Bill in relation to pari-mutuel betting, which is legalised by the Interstate Horseracing Act of 1978," added the group.

Its new sportsbook website has been received well by its customers and the number of wagering opportunities has increased, it said.

It has added more gaming products to the website and said it expects betinternet will continue to become a more attractive gaming and entertainment portal.

Risk Warning

There is an extra risk of losing money when shares are bought in some smaller companies including 'Penny Shares'. There is a big difference between the buying price and the selling price of these shares. If they have to be sold immediately, you may get back much less than you paid for them or you may have difficulty in selling them. Past performance is not a reliable indicator of future results. The price may change quickly and it may go down as well as up. You could lose every penny put into a particular share.
