The Weekend's Comments
A trading update by Screen (SEN.L) on Friday revealed that a bad debt provision of some £2m was to be made in the half-year figures, Saturday's Independent reported. The provision is likely to push interim results well below market expectations, the paper noted and that Screen was in talks with its bankers "to shore up its finances." A review of the business is underway and once an investigation into the scale of the financial information was known there is likely to be some management casualties. The shares have been suspended as the interim figures have had to be delayed and will not now be published until after the Stock Exchange's reporting deadline, which is today (30 September, 2002).
Web-Angel's (WEB.L) interim results were published on Friday and a review appears in the Daily Mail from Saturday. First-half pre-tax losses were reported at £365,000, a 70% fall compared to the same period last year. The newspaper also comments that the Company is still seeking a buyer. The shares were unchanged at 13.02 from Friday's close.

Penny Shares Online - penny shares research and information service.
There is an extra risk of losing money when shares are bought in some smaller companies including 'Penny Shares'. There is a big difference between the buying price and the selling price of these shares. If they have to be sold immediately, you may get back much less than you paid for them or you may have difficulty in selling them. Past performance is not a reliable indicator of future results. The price may change quickly and it may go down as well as up. You could lose every penny put into a particular share.
