The Independent and Daily Mail from Saturday comment on Friday's half a pence rise of Mean Fiddler (MEF.L), following news that tickets for Justin Timberlake's UK concerts at Wembley Arena have been sold out. The shares were unchanged this morning (10.00) at 13p.

Several newspapers on Saturday, briefly report on Seymour Pierce's (SYP.L) Friday announcement that it has agreed to sell its investment banking division to certain directors and management and return cash to shareholders. At 10.00am, the stock was unchanged on the day at 3.5p.

The Saturday edition of the Daily Mail reports briefly on Mediwatch's (MDW) fund raising and the CEO, Philip Stimpson's subscription for 320,000 shares at the Placing price of 2.5p. The stock traded at 3.125p was unchanged on the day at 10.00 Monday morning.

Today's Financial Times reports on the deadline of 10 April 2003, set by Paramount (PMN.L) for shareholders of Groupe Chez Gerard to accept 75p a share in cash or a paper alternative of 3.75 new Paramount shares. The paper says Paramount faces a possible comeback bid from founder and current chairman, Neville Abraham and managing director Simon Binder.
