According to the Daily Express and the Guardian on Friday, Proactive Sports Group (PAS.L) was being lined up for a bid, hence the 1p share price increase. Two days later, the News of the World profiles the back room team at the Group, who are responsible for managing the day-to-day off field affairs of Wayne Rooney. The stock nudged up 0.25p at 11.30 Tuesday morning to 4.75p, from the closing price of the last trading day last week of Thursday.

The Independent on Friday reports of the former directors Michael Williams and Owen Williams of Screen (SEN.L) selling 8.7m shares at 5.5p. The Times on the same day also says the CEO bought 85,000 shares while the chairman acquired 170,000 shares. At 11.30 on Tuesday morning the stock had stormed ahead by 27% to 9.88p, an increase of 2.13p on Thursday's closing price of 7.75p.

The Sunday Telegraph reckons Symphony Plastics (SYM) is a 'Buy' and writes that turnover is expected to triple this year as Symphony already has contracts worth £11m for 2003. The newspaper says the Company is operating at a PE of 7 at 22.75p and that "another big supply deal is pending". The shares rose by 1.75p to 24.5p at half past eleven on Tuesday, an increase of 1.75p on last Thursday's price.
