Aukett Group (AUK) featured in Saturday’s Daily Express, which noted a fall of 0.37p to 3.75p following an end to bid talks, however, the stock was unchanged this morning at 3.75p.
Saturday’s Independent provided commentary on African Eagle’s (AFE) drilling progress at its Zambian project. The article speculated that if the Company can prove the existence of as much copper as was previously thought, following drilling operations in the 70’s, “its value could soar.” Nevertheless, the shares were unchanged at 23.75p in Monday morning’s trading.
This weekend’s The Business tipped Coffeeheaven (COH) as a speculative ‘Buy’ and suggested that the Company has “long term potential”, due to its status as a leading brand in the Polish market, in fact, the fourth most recognised food brand in the country. The article goes on to outline that the option to acquire the remaining 80% of Coffee Nation, of which they bought 20% last year, provides a platform to expand in the Baltic where growth rates are “even higher”. The shares show an increase of 0.10p to 1.27p this morning.
Demand for Envesta Telecom (EVS) was reported as “heavy” in Saturday’s Independent, which also noted that interim results, due on Wednesday, are likely to “impress investors in a big way” according to market gossip. This morning’s trading saw an increase of 0.63p to 6.50p.
Gaming Corporation (GMC.L) featured in Saturday’s Independent, which suggested that rumours of a possible deal with Orange might be responsible for an increase of 1.50p in its price to 15.5p. Monday morning’s trading showed no change at 15.5p
Saturday’s Daily Express reported a slip of 0.13p to 7.12p for Hidefield Gold (HIF) after profit-taking, which has seen the price come off further to 6.88p this morning, down 0.25p. The Guardian on Saturday reported a price increase for London Asia Capital (LDC) of 0.25p to 23.75p following its appointment as advisor to a series of Chinese projects. The price increased further by 0.25p to 24.0p this morning.
The Daily Mail and Daily Express on Saturday both reported on Maclellan Group’s (MLG) fall of 12.0p to 70.0p following the termination of bid talks with Spice Group. Although there have been rumours of potential bids from Mitie Group and ISS, Monday morning’s trading saw a further decrease of 0.50p to 69.50p.
The Times on Saturday reported a dip in the share price by 0.50p to 13.5p for Planestation Group (PTG) following news of its FD, Nicholas Godfrey, parting company from the Group. There is also mention of investor speculation that Christopher Foster, Executive Director, may be in line for the same fate. The stock was down 0.50p at 13.00p in this morning’s trading.
