Penny Share Review 320

16 January 2006

Press

Hartest Holdings (HTH) appeared in today’s Independent, which presented the opinions of a Corporate Synergy analyst whose belief was that Company’s operating in value added areas are thriving and that Hartest is ‘one such Company’ with its future linked to a growing healthcare industry. Nevertheless, regardless of this upbeat opinion, the shares were unaffected and remained at 0.56p this morning.

Saturday’s Daily Express included a piece on communications company Pipex (PXC.L), commenting that 68,000 customers had been signed up to its service over the last 6 months. The editorial went on to say there are doubts over the margins that can be achieved, as the Company is using a re-packaged BT product, but that local loop unbundling may give it more control. It was also suggested that hopes are pinned on the Company’s ownership of 1 of 2 existing licenses for broadband over radio WiMax technology. Following this press attention, the shares added 0.65p rising to 13.80p.

GMA Resources (GMA) was included in this weekend’s The Business, recommending that the Company might be a comeback candidate due to its changed management and the fact that money has been raised to bring its gold mine into production. This positive view had little bearing on the share price this morning however, which remained unchanged at 9.38p.

The Times on Saturday featured World Television (WTV) under its ‘Rumour of the day’ section, which reported better share price performance on word that a contract was on the way with the European Space Agency. This proved to be the case (please see below) and the shares continued to rise during Monday morning’s session, adding 0.15p to reach 1.15p.

Monday morning prices were taken around 10.00am on 16 January 2006.

If they have to be sold immediately, you may get back much less than you paid for them or you may have difficulty in selling them. Past performance is not a reliable indicator of future results.
