Penny Share Review 322

30 January 2006

Press First Artist Corporation (FAN) appeared in today’s FT, which speculated that results from the Company (announced today, please see below) would show a return to the black and diversification away from simply football representation. This proved to be the case and the piece went on to say that results come following a week that has seen increased scrutiny in the industry, due to Sven Goran Eriksson’s spell in the spotlight. Interpretation of the numbers appeared positive this morning and the shares gained 0.63p, rising to 6.63p.

Hill Station (HLL) received column inches at the weekend, courtesy of The Independent on Saturday, under its ‘Weekly Guide to Spending’ feature. A marketing campaign from the ice cream makers offers consumers the chance to win prizes in a valentines-day linked online quiz, but despite this advertising, the shares were unmoved at 3.50p during trading this morning.

The Daily Express on Saturday featured Newmark Security (NWT), commenting that a two-year ‘trough’ had been marked with a share price of 1.2p and highlighting the fact that £24k had been spent by 2 ‘bosses’ on a further 2m shares. Regardless of this press attention, the shares were unchanged at 1.30p this morning.

Teleunit (TLU) comprised part of an article in The Daily Telegraph today concerning a reprise and signs of hope in the telecoms sector. Suggesting that the company was amongst those with ‘most to gain’ from the growth in mobile internet, this positive sentiment was unable to affect the share price, which remained 16.50p during this morning’s session.

Monday morning prices were taken around 10.00am on 30 January 2006.

There is a big difference between the buying price and the selling price of these shares. If they have to be sold immediately, you may get back much less than you paid for them or you may have difficulty in selling them. Past performance is not a reliable indicator of future results. The price may change quickly and it may go down as well as up. You could lose every penny put into a particular share.
