Coffeeheaven International (COH) appeared in Saturday’s Times, which speculated that an improvement to the share price was further to rumours of better-than-expected sales. This momentum did not spill over into Monday morning’s trading though, which saw no change in the share price, as it remained at 23.75p.
Northern Petroleum (NOP) received much press coverage over the course of the weekend, appearing in several newspapers, all noting the rise in the Company’s share price. The Guardian on Saturday commented that it was the “stand out feature in the small cap arena” and attributed its recent performance to the upgrading of Dutch assets and, consequently, an increased price target of 360p from Panmure Gordon, making the Company a potential takeover target. This run continued into Monday morning, as the shares added a further 12.00p to arrive at 153.00p.
The Daily Mail on Saturday remarked that Plus Markets (PMK) is going from strength to strength, as an increasing number of brokers become willing to use its system. A further increase to the share price was noted during this morning’s trading with the price adding 3.00p to reach 38.00p.
The Financial Times this weekend provided a review of Quonnectis (QTI). The article noted key customers and a more than doubling of sales in 2005, but also reminded readers of its widened pre tax losses. Nonetheless, the news failed to impact the Company’s share price, which remained unchanged at 2.25p this morning.
The Daily Express on Saturday noted a rise in the shares of Venteco (VTO) on its AIM debut and attributed this to the fact that the Company is believed to be close to announcing the acquisition of a pest control business. Nevertheless, this positive movement seemed short lived, as the shares dropped by 0.25p to 3.38p during Monday morning’s session.
Western & Oriental (WEST) was mentioned in The Independent on Saturday. According to the piece, Chairman David Howell and former FD of Lastminute.com, will be looking to consolidate the luxury travel market, which nobody has tried to do until now and it was suggested that further acquisition targets have already been ‘teed up’. The shares increased by 2.00p from their placing price of 22.00p to 24.00p this morning.
An article regarding Zyzygy (ZYZ) comprised part of The Daily Express on Saturday. It mentioned that the share price had improved and pinned this on hopes that the Company will pay a dividend at the end of the year. This drive appeared to continue, as the shares increased by 0.05p to 0.83p this morning.
Monday morning prices were taken around 10.30am on 27 March 2006.

Penny Shares Online - penny shares research and information service.
There is an extra risk of losing money when shares are bought in some smaller companies including 'Penny Shares'. There is a big difference between the buying price and the selling price of these shares. If they have to be sold immediately, you may get back much less than you paid for them or you may have difficulty in selling them. Past performance is not a reliable indicator of future results. The price may change quickly and it may go down as well as up. You could lose every penny put into a particular share.
