Penny Share Review 331

03 April 2006

Press

The Daily Express on Saturday reported that Entertainment Rights (ERT) had been given until 13 April to make a firm offer for Chorion, the owner of Noddy and the Mr Men, or walk away from the deal. The piece also highlighted HIT Entertainment’s decision to withdraw its informal offer for the Company and the share price remained unchanged at 37.50p this morning.

The Financial Mail on Sunday featured an article on Greg Hutchings and Lupus Capital (LUP), his first venture since being forced out of Tomkins amid boardroom excess allegations. The article noted his hand in transforming Tomkins over his 17-year involvement and commented that his suggestion was that the recent Schlegel deal for Lupus was the first of many. The shares are currently suspended, following the deal at 14.00p.

Ten Alps (TAL) enjoyed various weekend press coverage. One such report, indicative of the general vein of the others, appeared in Saturday’s Times, which commented on a rise in the share price following the Company’s purchase of McMillan-Scott for £12.3m. Monday morning’s trading saw no change to the price, which remained 67.50p.

Monday morning prices were taken between 10.00am and 11.00am on 3 April 2006.
