Penny Share Review 334

24 April 2006

The Times today named Coffee Heaven (COH) as its “Small stock to watch”, due to a financially disciplined growth plan. The article went on to say that cash balances were £2.9m at the end of last month and the momentum seemed to carry over into Monday morning’s trading, which witnessed an increase of 0.50p to 22.75p in the share price.

News of a platinum discovery at the West Kytlim license in Russia was held responsible for a rise in the shares of Eurasia Mining (EUA) by the Daily Express on Saturday, an opinion mirrored by Saturday’s Independent. The price continued to rise this morning, gaining 3.25p to 11.38p.

Gaming Corporation (GMC.L) appeared in The Business this weekend, noting that the Company looked cheap based on fundamentals. The piece continued that the business was highly cash generative, with a cracking balance sheet and offered remarkable opportunities for continued revenue and profit growth. It concluded that the shares are a buy with a 12-month price target of 24p. Following this positive press coverage, the shares added 0.75p to 11.25p. An article regarding Intandem Films (IFM) appeared in The Daily Telegraph today, reporting on the increased size of the Company’s film portfolio (please see below). The hope is that this increase will boost sales and the portfolio now includes 5 completed American titles, including Civic Duty starring Peter Krause of Six Feet Under. The shares added 0.13p this morning, reaching 2.38p.

The Sunday Telegraph invited readers to keep an eye on Osmetech (OMH), following the announcement of increased sales, up by 78%, last month. The article suggested that investment in the Critical Care business could be paying off, but noted that there might be a need to raise funds in order to grow, concluding with a ‘risky buy’ rating. The shares added 1.00p to reach 25.00p this morning. The Daily Mail on Saturday highlighted hefty share turnover of 14.8m in Rift Oil (RIFT.L) causing an increase in the share price and reported the Company’s ownership of a rig to be used for operations in Papa New Guinea. The positive movement continued during this morning’s session, as the share price added 0.63p to 12.50p.

Monday morning prices were taken at around 10.00am on 24 April 2006.
