Penny Share Review 375

Monday 12 February 2007

Saturday’s Daily Mail reported that the share price of Business Control Solutions (BCT) had improved after the Company announced that it had secured a contract with a large investment bank and that Abbey Financial Markets was extending its contract. This positive momentum spilled over into trading this morning, where the share price added 0.625p to reach 7.25p.

Saturday’s Telegraph reflected on the 11.5p increase in the share price of CCH International (CCH), subsequent to it announcing it was in talks with parties that may lead to another trade finance agreement. The shares continued this run during Monday morning’s session, adding a further 17.50p to reach 78.00p.

First Artist Corporation (FAN) appeared in The Observer on Sunday’s Business and Media section, headlined “A star is born”. The piece highlighted the Company’s diversification through acquisitions and suggested that although its shares had risen from 60p to 93p in the last year, “…this is only the beginning.” The share price remained 95.00p earlier today.

PLUS Markets (PMK) received attention from the Daily Mail on Saturday, which stated that interest in the shares could be due to speculation that the Company may be an acquisition target for Bob Greifeld of Nasdaq. The article suggested that PLUS may also be in joint venture discussions with management at Project Turquoise, the rival trading platform to the LSE and emphasised backing of the PLUS platform from top investment banks, such as Merrill Lynch and Goldman Sachs. The share price continued to move forward today, adding 0.75p to reach 19.50p.

Saturday’s Express noted that shares in Zyzygy (ZYZ) were ahead by more than 10%, following development contract news regarding a multi-player online game for the BBC. There was no further change to the price during Monday morning’s session, which remained 0.315p.

The prices were taken between 9.14am 9.50am on Monday 12 February 2007.
