Penny Share Review 383

Tuesday 10 April 2007

The weekend’s Financial Times provided a review of recent events at Oxford BioMedica (OXB), including the deal with French organisation Sanofi-Aventis for TroVax. It cited the good news that last week a similar cancer product, Provenge, developed by Dendreaon, went before the FDA advisory committee and got a positive review. The paper suggested that the Company has more to prove and is a stock for those with an appetite for risk. The shares slipped 1.25p to 49.25p this morning.

Saturday’s Daily Mail featured Supporta (SOR) under its ‘Broker Buys’ section, highlighting that Equity Growth Research says buy the shares at 60p, as the Company is a key player in the consolidation of the domiciliary care sector. The price was unchanged at 52.50p earlier today.

The Sunday Telegraph commented that there is no sign the momentum that has carried shares in Tanfield (TAN) this far is losing pace, noting that congestion charge exemptions are helping to drive sales. It went on that a new electric Ford transit van will be launched at a commercial vehicle motor show in Birmingham at the end of the month, which is likely to produce new interest and that the US is only just started to be targeted by its aerial platform offering. It concluded “Even at these prices the shares are still worth a look. Buy.” Indeed, the momentum did appear to continue, as the share price added 5.50p to reach 128.50p this morning.

Tertiary Minerals (TYM) appeared in the Daily Mail on Saturday, reporting that vigorous efforts are being made to resolve its problems. However, the article stated that there was no confirmation of this from the Company and the shares remained suspended on Tuesday morning.

The prices were taken between 10.29am and 10.42am on Tuesday 10 April 2007.

Risk Warning

There is an extra risk of losing money when shares are bought in some smaller companies including 'Penny Shares'. There is a big difference between the buying price and the selling price of these shares. If they have to be sold immediately, you may get back much less than you paid for them or you may have difficulty in selling them. Past performance is not a reliable indicator of future results. The price may change quickly and it may go down as well as up. You could lose every penny put into a particular share.
