Writing in The Independent on Saturday, Derek Pain reviewed his ‘No Pain, No Gain’ portfolio and briefly noted that Access Intelligence (ACI) is at least being more widely appreciated, despite being one of three losers amongst his fourteen listed stocks. The stock remained unchanged today at 7.00p.

Saturday’s Guardian reported First Artist (FAN) is expected to use its interim results, (which were announced today) to show it is on track to meet a forecast of £2.06m pre-tax profit for the whole year to August 2007. The market reacted favourably to the results this morning, with a 4 pence increase to 105p.

The Weekend FT reviewed Tanfield (TAN) in its ‘Share Watch’ column and explained the meteoric progress of the shares, which is being matched by the Company’s turnover and is expected to double again from £40.1m last year, with profits projected to jump from £3.5m to £14m. Tanfield marched higher again this morning by 1.75p to 135.25p.

The Independent tipped Toledo Mining (TMC) and said that although the shares have surged, there is plenty more long-term upside and noting the 70% margins the miner is currently benefiting from. On Monday morning, the shares dropped back by 7.5p to 272.5p.

The prices were taken at around 11.20 am on Monday 30 April 2007.
