Penny Share Review 389

The Mail on Sunday included an article concerning Ennstone (ENN). Noting that Hanson’s takeover by HeidelbergCement for £7.85bn showed the value put on good building materials businesses, the piece remarked that once this deal was completed, it would leave Ennstone as the only quoted organisation in the sector. It went on to detail that the proceeds of the Company’s £50m fundraising would be used for expansion in the USA, through the acquisition of quarry businesses, to develop its Scottish business and to reduce borrowings. The timing of acquisition plans in the States was praised, given the weak dollar currently, and the article concluded “searching for good-value shares is an increasingly difficult task these days. But Ennstone offers genuine potential. The strategy is sound and there is always the possibility of generous takeover action. Buy.” Following this positive press attention, the shares added 1.00p to reach 54.00p this morning.

The price above was taken at 9.57am on Monday, 21 May 2007.
