Penny Share Review 413

Monday 05 November 2007

The Times on Saturday noted a downturn in the share price of Eicom (EIC), as new shares were issued at 3.4p. This was also highlighted by Saturday’s Daily Mail, though the price improved by 1.75p to reach 6.25p this morning.

Fairplace (FCO) appeared in the support services section of Saturday’s Times, reviewing Results announced on Friday. The piece highlighted reduced pre-tax losses, aided by lower admin costs, and that the current year had started well. The shares were unchanged at 12.00p earlier today.

The Daily Express on Saturday reported heavy trading in the shares of Petards (PEG) amidst speculation that financial backing or a merger could be on the cards. It went on to reiterate comments from Chairman, Tim Wightman, that the Company lacked scale to capitalise on demand. The share price added 0.08p to reach 0.64p earlier.

ReGen Therapeutics (RGT) appeared in the Daily Telegraph on Saturday, noting a BBC documentary aired on Wednesday evening concerning Zolpidem. According to the article, ReGen estimates the market for the drug is worth around $4.3bn, though it could be years until it is universally used. It continued that Phase III trials are planned, and if all goes well, the Company may be able to sell its licence to a major pharma organisation, concluding “Those wishing for a miracle may want to hold on to their dreams – and the shares.” Despite this press attention, the share price dropped by 0.025p to 0.65p during early trading.

The prices above were taken at 11.24am on Monday, 5 November 2007.
