Penny Share Review 439

Tuesday 06 May 2008

Desire Petroleum (DES) appeared in The Daily Telegraph today, in an article regarding the increase in shares of Falkland Island oil explorers. Noting that this was despite a lack of news, the piece went on to suggest that Desire’s unnamed farm-in partner was Arcadia, though this was not confirmed by the Company. The shares were 2.25p lower at 86.75p this morning.

Increase in the shares of EBTM (EBTM), following last week’s pre-close trading update, was noted by Saturday’s Independent, though the price was 0.50p worse off at 4.25p earlier today.

Today’s Independent included coverage of Plant Impact (PIM), stating that the technology enables farmers to use less fertilizer, which is better for the environment. It continued that higher fertilizer costs should help the business and that CEO Peter Blezard believes sales will reach £10m within 3-5 years, making the Company a potential takeover target. Apparently, discussions have been had with a number of suitors. The paper highlighted that the annual United Nations Commission on Sustainable Development will be convening later in New York, the outcome of which will be of particular interest to PIM, which is trying to get exposure in the house of commons, and the shares were 0.50p stronger at 51.50p following this press attention.

Shares in Silentpoint (SLP) increased, due to management buying stock, according to The Independent on Saturday. The price was unchanged at 8.00p on Tuesday morning.

Prices above were taken at around 9.42am on Tuesday, 6 May 2008.
