The Times on Saturday provided comment on broker Daniel Stewart and highlighted that the company had been in early stage takeover talks with Dowgate Capital (DGT), but that talks had now ended. DGT’s share price was unchanged at 6.75p this morning.
Saturday’s Daily Express suggested that rumours of a positive update from Empyrean Energy (EME) on its US gas projects were unable to prevent a fall in the shares. This appeared to spill over into this morning’s trading, where the price was 1.00p worse off at 19.75p.
A positive update on TroVax caused increase in the shares of Oxford BioMedica (OXB), according to Saturday’s Daily Express. This was also pointed out by Saturday’ Times, which reported that Panmure Gordon said while the data supported its view that TroVax would become a commercial therapy, it was not sufficient to change its ‘sell’ rating. The price was 0.74p lower at 6.01p earlier today.
Sectorguard (SGD) appeared in the ‘Rumour of the day’ section of The Times on Saturday. The piece reported ‘whispers’ of a boardroom spat over signing of the annual accounts, although the Company insists the Board has approved them. However, despite this speculation the shares were unaffected, remaining 1.5p. Prices above were taken at around 10:05am on Monday, 27 October 2008.
